Insanity Quilt

While investigating Linda Franz's Inklingo, I found the "Insanity Quilt" done by Rhonda Pierce of Australia.  I ordered the old issue of Australian Patchwork and Quilting that featured Rhonda's masterpiece and was hooked. It gave me the nudge to try Inklingo, which after getting over the bit of apprehension of printing the stitch lines from my little ink jet printer and a couple of test runs. I DID IT!  I printed the 1/2 inch hexagons on fabric.

One of the inklingo fans did Insanity in 30's reproductions and that's what I have chosen. I love them and have a ton waiting to be used. So on September 1, 2011, I started cutting and handpiecing my shapes.

Yes, the shapes are hand pieced. All 10,339 1/2 in. hexagons!
